Welcome to THRINV. These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your access to and use of the THRINV websites at thrinv.com and its language editions (each at <language>.thrinv.com), together with the central account at account.thrinv.com (the “Service”). The Service is operated by THRINV Publishing OÜ, a company registered in Estonia (registry code 17528410), at Ahtri 12, 15551 Tallinn, Estonia (“THRINV”, “we”, “us”). By using the Service you agree to these Terms.
1. The Service
THRINV publishes essays, stories, and news analysis connected to the book Thrones of the Invisible, in many languages. The first two stories of each series are free to read, and three news articles a month are free in full. Everything else is sold per unit: each e-book and each monthly edition of THRINV Magazine is bought once and stays in your library — read online on the site and downloaded as EPUB or PDF from your account. There are no subscriptions.
2. Your account
To read member content or receive newsletters you give us an email address. We sign you in with a link or a one-time code sent to that address, so please keep access to your email secure. One account gives you access across every THRINV language edition.
3. Membership and billing
- E-books: €15 per book (Thrones of the Invisible, Learn, each volume of Wonder), in the language you buy it in. After payment the book opens on the site for the account you paid with, and the EPUB — marked with your e-mail address — is yours to download from account.thrinv.com. No expiry, no renewal.
- THRINV Magazine: €15 per monthly edition, localised for the country you choose — the month's articles online, plus the edition as PDF and EPUB. Each edition is a separate purchase.
- Schools: €5 per book or edition per account, no minimum. The school assigns each purchased unit to a pupil or teacher; an assignment can be corrected within 14 days, after which it belongs to that account.
- Prices include VAT where it applies and may be shown in your local currency at checkout. Payments are handled by our payment processor, Stripe; we never receive or store your full card details.
4. Refunds and right of withdrawal
If you are a consumer in the EU or EEA you normally have a 14-day right to withdraw from a purchase. Because an e-book or magazine edition is digital content delivered at once, by completing the purchase you ask us to deliver it immediately and acknowledge that this right of withdrawal ends once the content is available to you. Even so, if something is wrong — a file that does not open, a language you did not intend — contact us within 14 days and we will put it right or refund in good faith.
5. Acceptable use
You agree not to misuse the Service. In particular, you will not share your sign-in so that others bypass membership; copy or redistribute paid content beyond your own personal use; scrape or bulk-download the Service by automated means; or attempt to break, overload, or gain unauthorised access to any part of it.
6. Intellectual property
All content on the Service — text, stories, illustrations, and the book Thrones of the Invisible — belongs to THRINV Publishing OÜ or to Jan Verellen and is protected by copyright. You are welcome to read it, share links, and quote briefly with attribution, but you may not republish substantial parts without our permission.
7. Translations and the use of AI
The Service is published in 33 languages, and we use AI tools in making it: for the translation of every language edition, for the illustrations, for the writing of the magazine articles and their localisation for each country, and in producing the books. This is always done under the editorial responsibility of the author and the publisher, who review and approve what is published and remain answerable for it; the vision, the ideas and the argument are the author's. English is the original and authoritative version; translations are provided for your convenience and may contain inaccuracies. Where a translation and the English original differ, the English version prevails. Please report any error to [email protected].
8. Nature of the content
THRINV publishes commentary, analysis, and educational stories. They are offered in good faith but are not professional legal, financial, medical, or psychological advice. We try hard to be accurate but do not warrant that the content is complete or free of error.
9. Changes
We may improve the Service and update these Terms from time to time. Material changes are shown by the “last updated” date above; if you keep using the Service after a change, you accept the updated Terms.
10. Suspension and termination
We may suspend or end access if these Terms are seriously or repeatedly breached.
11. Liability
To the extent permitted by law, THRINV is not liable for indirect or consequential losses arising from your use of the Service. Nothing in these Terms limits any liability that cannot be limited by law.
12. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of Estonia, and any disputes fall under the competent courts of Estonia. This does not affect the mandatory consumer-protection rights you have in the country where you live.

14. Printed books and the magazine
THRINV sells its printed editions only to bookshops, schools and organisations (trade sales), in its own shop at account.thrinv.com/shop: hardcover books at €40 and paperback editions at €30, less the trade discount. Every copy is printed to order by our printing partner Bookvault (United Kingdom; for some countries a local partner in the United States, Canada or Australia) and shipped with a tracked service; delivery takes about 10 to 15 working days. Prices are shown in euro and exclude VAT for trade buyers. Shipping is free from the number of copies shown at checkout for your country; below that number the shipping cost is shown before you pay.
Tick the trade box at checkout and give your organisation's name with your VAT number or, if you do not have one, your registration number; you receive a 40 % trade discount and an invoice for the order. The first order of a title requires a minimum number of copies, shown at checkout, because we lodge legal deposit copies for every printed title; repeat orders of a title have no minimum.
Until our EU VAT registration and IOSS number are in place, parcels to EU addresses are imported from the United Kingdom and the carrier may collect import VAT on books and a handling fee before delivery. We state this at checkout and will remove it as soon as the registration is complete.
Trade sales are not consumer sales: there is no right of withdrawal. If an order cannot be printed or shipped, we refund it in full. Damaged or misprinted copies are handled as described below.
Damaged or misprinted copies are replaced free of charge: send us a photo within 14 days of delivery and we reprint and reship at our cost. Delivery times shown at checkout are the carrier's estimates.
